Smooth Move Exlax

That’s what you’d say back in the day when someone did something this stupid: Feds Knew NYC Flyover Would Cause Panic.

Barefoot Running

I was just talking to someone this weekend about the benefits of running barefoot, and after reading that article I found these Nike Free Trainers on sale. I’ve been wanting to try them for a while, and it just so happens I’m due a new pair of training shoes, so I’m giving them a shot.

Space Monkeys and Green Roofs

KNS article on my buddy Jay. He bought an old eyesore building on Broadway, gutted it, and is completely renovating it into some very nice commercial space. Part of that invovles a green roof. Stop by and check out what he’s doing if you’re interested.

Proponents of green roofs rave about the benefits. Energy savings routinely reach more than 25 percent. Plants convert heat and soil moisture into humidity, which brings about evaporative cooling. Vegetation-growing roofs reduce noise, improve air quality and are pleasing to the eye.

Achievement Gaps in Education

Thanks to @alexlavidge for pointing me to this report on achievement gaps in the US. Haven’t had time to look at details, but it did jump out at me that we spend more per point on math scores than any other country, yet don’t score the highest. Does that mean money isn’t the answer?

Fox News Will Cut Tea Party Funding

…thanks to the people who booed their Republican Congressman at the Greenville, SC Tea Party. Didn’t the crowd get the script and talking points?  I mean, they were paid to be there right? </sarcasm>

How about this clown’s resilience? I love how he tries to redirect the boos at the beginning of the speech away from himself and onto the policies and legislation he, uh, supported. After that, it’s the same old Republican script…”It’s all the Democrats’ fault!”

Stay Classy East Tennessee!

The slit up the leg of the wedding dress and the boots are what make me the most proud. I guess the dress didn’t come in camouflage blaze orange?

Perfectly Said

Both parties can go around screaming “they did it, too” all they want, but that does nothing to add to the debate or address the issue. What is on point is when people look at both parties and say, “they did it to us.”
